Hiraeth
‘Hiraeth’ is a project that explores Welsh culture and symbolism alongside my own personal connection to the land and history within Pembrokeshire in West Wales. I explored Welsh Celtic symbols that have rooted meaning in Christianity as well as modern symbols through personal connections. A big part of my project was surrounding the story of the birth of St David by St Non where I explore in the place that he was born. Despite not growing up in this area, I spent a lot of summer holidays here as a child and so I feel my own connection to the landscape and history. The video looks through ‘Hiraeth’ and explores the photography and poetry that represents the history of the country that I love and cherish.
